My Favorite Muffin, 10174 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: facility couldn’t provide a parasite destruction letter from the lox distributor; milks and creamers at self-service coffee station are being held on time control but there isn’t a written time control policy; there isn’t a consumer advisory on the menus indicating that the salmon is cold smoked; in-use knives incorrectly stored in crevice between prep unit and table.

China House, 4703 Nine Mile Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: hand sink doesn’t have paper towels; strainer for cooked chicken, whisks, slicer and grater are soiled; temperature of cooked chicken wings are elevated; facility’s thermometer is not working; cardboard should not line shelves; egg cartons should not be reused; wood beside sandwich unit is unsealed; wire racks in walk-in are heavily rusted; some tongs and other utensils are in disrepair; observed dried food debris and grease buildup on sides of fryer and wok station, on refrigerator shelves, in utensil bins, on walk-in fan grates and room fans; multiple ceiling tiles are damaged; multiple lights are burned out; observed heavy grime buildup on grease trap by three-compartment sink and on walls, especially behind cooking equipment and sink.

Marco’s Pizza, 7000 Forest Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: can opener and can opener holder are soiled; temperature of spinach on the line is elevated because the pan is overfilled; box of single-service items incorrectly stored on the floor; some ceiling panels are dusty.

Publix, 5400 Wyndham Forest Drive – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: wires on fryer baskets are bent in several places; observed dust, grease and food debris on surfaces of warmers, fryers, roaster oven, dry equipment rack, racks, fan grates inside walk-in coolers, coffee area dry mats and cup holder carts; observed food debris and dust on floors under and behind equipment, storage racks and walk-in coolers.

International House of Pancakes, 4840 South Laburnum Avenue – The following violations were reported during a follow-up inspection: the hand wash sign is not legible; temperatures of turkey breast, ham and shredded cheese in two-door reach-in cooler on cook line are elevated; temperatures of batter, pepper jack cheese, American cheese and sliced tomatoes in prep top are elevated; pancake batter and omelet mix, and two other containers in lowboy are on time control and they are all past their discard time.

Starbucks Coffee Company, 11332 Nuckols Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed coffee and food debris inside cabinets, drawers, lowboy and on tops of ovens; observed coffee and dirt buildup on floors under and behind equipment on front service line, behind ice machine and on storage racks.

Publix, 10250 Staples Mill Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed food debris and grease residue on surfaces of fryers and dry storage; the floors in both walk-in coolers are not smooth and easily cleanable.

Carini Italian Restaurant, 3718 Williamsburg Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: facility doesn’t have a certified food protection manager; more than eight cans in dry storage are heavily dented/dented at the seam; raw shrimp and calamari incorrectly stored over ready-to-eat lettuce and lemons in prep top; raw shrimp incorrectly stored over ready-to-eat food in small prep unit; ice machine has a layer of black buildup inside; temperature of cooked onions on the line are elevated after two hours of cooling; temperature of lasagna cooked last night in the walk-in is elevated; temperatures of sausage, spaghetti, diced tomatoes, salami and tomato sauce in the walk-in are elevated; menu doesn’t contain a consumer advisory for rib eye steak, which can be cooked to order; lasagna improperly cooling in a container covered in foil; spaghetti improperly cooling in a very full deep bin; salmon incorrectly thawing in reduced-oxygen packaging in the walk-in; observed two dirty knives on the cook line stored in a dirty cardboard holder and a dirty plastic holder; ice cream scoop, salad knives and a big spoon for stirring tea are incorrectly stored in room temperature water; cardboard shouldn’t be used to line shelves of walk-in cooler; walk-in cooler is not keeping foods at the proper temperature; racks in salad prep unit and tall salad reach-in are rusty; there are damaged floor tiles in walk-in cooler and damaged ceiling tiles in dry storage; paint is chipping on walls in back of kitchen.

Denny’s, 6598 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: soap dispenser at cook line hand sink isn’t working properly; dried food debris found inside microwave on cook line; temperatures of multiple types of cheese in sandwich unit are elevated; cutting board on cook line is heavily scratched and stained; observed grease and dried food debris buildup under fryers and inside sandwich unit and knife container; observed buildup of dried food debris on floors by equipment along cook line.

Little Angela’s, 10246 Staples Mill Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed black residue inside ice machine and on soda guns at bar; large pan of tomato sauce is incorrectly covered while cooling in the walk-in cooler; prep unit cutting boards are heavily scratched and stained; observed flour, dust and dried food debris on surfaces of all wire storage racks, utensil bins and fryers; observed food debris and flour buildup on floors and walls in walk-in cooler and inside mop sink; ceiling panels and vents are dusty.

Park Lane Tavern, 2251 Old Brick Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: no sanitizer detected at the bar dish machine; mold found inside the ice machine; observed food residue on slicer blade and guard; temperature of fried onions under heat at pass thru window is too low; temperatures of several foods in different units are elevated (raw burgers, raw shrimp, raw fish, egg wash, lettuce, shredded cheddar cheese); chemical spray bottles in dish area, wait station and bar are unlabeled; observed small flies beside bar dish machine; water and food debris is pooling on the floor and eroding the grout; cutting boards at lowboy refrigerators are heavily scratched; water is dripping from prep unit onto the floor across from conveyor oven; gasket of breading unit is torn; walk-in racks are rusty; a screw is missing from top lid of lowboy across from grill; sides of equipment at cook line and under the grill are greasy; observed food debris under lid of prep unit across from conveyor oven; mop sink doesn’t have a dual check valve installed; ceiling vents, wall at cook line and fan guards in walk-in are dusty; grease is building up on the floor under equipment.

Hawk’s BBQ & Seafood, 8191-B Brook Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed mold buildup inside ice machine; temperature of BBQ in hot holding unit is too low; temperatures of cooked burgers sitting out, fish sitting out on ice, and mac and cheese and baked beans in two-door reach-in are elevated; clean utensils incorrectly stored in sanitizer; several surfaces need cleaning (racks throughout the facility, inside of units including racks, sides of equipment on the cook line, and floors and walls behind cooking equipment and dish area); observed heavy buildup of grease on the hood.
